PULL TESTS

January 2005

RUST GRIP ®
LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Here are the results of our pull tests done by the Louisiana Department of Transportation in January 2005.

1) On the Huey Long Bridge that JE put a test panel on November of 2003. First a test was done on a portion of the bridge that we had not coated. The result was a pull test of 200 psi. Then two tests were done on the test panel JE did. The results were 540 psi on one and 580 psi on the other.

2) The LADOTD applied several test panels on the College Drive Bridge. They first tested the existing coating on the bridge and the pull test number was 85 psi. They then tested the four Rust Grip panels and the average result was 540 psi.

For your information the LADOTD think anything over 300 psi is excellent. It also proves in my opinion that we really do penetrate through the existing coating and into the pores of the substrate.
